I still get the opportunity to shoot on LAist's "dime," and for April it was Megafaun at the Echo.
I was familiar with the name and the promo stills of the trio's bearded members. Other than that, I wasn't sure what to expect. But when the band took the stage, it was both surprising and pleasant. Decked out in Lakers jerseys, the group was able to balance the humor of their personalities with the serious intensity of their playing. The songs, starting out hushed and mostly without words, build and build to a roaring crescendo of rock and vocals. So much so, that I could feel my body shake from the sheer loudness (literally!).
